Summertime

New Releases 2020~3

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."

~ John Lubbock

In The Summertime . . .

Garden Gifts Framed 3.png

The "Garden Gifts" we

cherish and love . . .

Thanks to the spring rains

from earlier and above . . .

Filling our baskets with

flowers galore . . .

The warmth of summer

overflows our

hearts evermore.

"Resplendent Monarch"

light on wing . . .

Fills my soul with the

joyous splendor each

summer may bring.

Best Day Framed 2.jpg

The "Best Day"  I ever had,

was 'tween . . .

A blue sky on a dock

and riverside clean . . .

Wearin' my good luck hat . . .

'N fishin' for that giant

boyhood fishin' dream.

A "Delicate Beauty"

caught my eye . . .

White petals afloat in

a meadow of green . . .

Adrift 'neath a deep

lavender sky.

Battery Up Framed2.jpg

Suddenly, I awoke with a start . . .

From a dreamy haze to

the sidelines of a ballpark . . .

The crack of my son's bat

upon that wily ball . . .

"Batter Up!" the

booming umpire's call.

Because of what I believe in,

the country I love

is no whim . . .

Baseball, fishing, an

abundance of flowers, and

every rushing stream . . .

All this makes me

"Proud to Serve" so

we can all pursue

our American dream.

Pilot Mountain Framed.jpg

A summer journey up a

winding road . . .

To "Pilot Mountain"

that's where I'll go . . .

The Saura tribe named it

"Jomeokee'' . . .

Which means 'great guide' ~

a landmark for all to see.

Summertime in a

"The Quiet Marsh" . . .

A perfect place to visit

when life's trials

seem far too harsh.

Sailing Splendor Framed 8.png

Upon the sea, my

summertime

journey ends . . .

"Sailing Splendor"

makes me feel

whole once again . . .

White sails touch the

calming blues . . .

Reflecting upon waters,

make me feel anew . . .

And a fiery burst from

the horizon afar . . .

Yes, I have found my

heart's shining star.

"Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world."
