Had fun in the workshop the other day peeking into Collinsville’s past. I was fortunate enough to be given the task of framing a page from an original publication, Illustrated Encyclopedia and Atlas Map of Madison County, Illinois published in 1873. The 140 year old page depicts Webster School, built in 1872. This new school replaced the old one that had been destroyed by fire. Cost of the new Webster School? $25,000.00. Look at all the architectural detail - and that tower!
